Bolivia

AAA
The rugged terrain of the Altiplano in Bolivia surprises with its incredible diversity, ranging from arid desert and salt flats to geyser fields and volcanic peaks, as well as the tranquil islands of Lake Titicaca. The brilliant sunshine at altitudes averaging more than 14,000 feet illuminates the multi-colored lakes of the Reserva Nacional Eduardo Avaroa, reflects brightly off the many pristine white salares and rock formations, and illuminates the snow-covered summits of the active volcanos and extinct nevados. According to the locals, these all represent the gifts of Mother Earth whom they lovingly refer to as La Pachamama.
